TOPICAL SEMINAR PROPOSAL SUBMISSION IS NOW CLOSED
Deadline for submission of proposals: Monday, 3 November 2014
You are cordially invited to submit proposals for Topical Seminars at the upcoming EFIC® Congress for consideration by the Scientific Programme Committee. These workshops provide an ideal forum for a linked series of reviews or data presentation with ample time for discussion. Although the Scientific Programme Committee will take all proposals into consideration it may decide to suggest modifications to individual proposals and may include unsolicited workshops in the final workshop programme.
The proposer of a workshop should obtain the consent for workshop participants and submission of a proposal implies that this has been obtained. At least one chairperson should be identified (which can be the proposer). If this chairperson is also presenting than one of the other participants needs to be identified as co-chair.
We like to encourage the active participation of scientists or clinicians early in their career. Workshops which incorporate presentation by PhD or MD students, science postdocs or junior clinicians younger than 35 years will be favourably considered. Please indicate whether any of the speakers of your proposal falls into this category of junior researchers. Please, be advised that we may ask for proof of such status, if the proposal is accepted. Failure to provide proof at that point is likely to result in the exclusion of the workshop from the programme.
Workshops typically run for 90 minutes in parallel sessions. The number of speakers is limited to 3 unless a junior researcher is presenting when the number of speakers can increase to 4. This recognises the possibility that some junior researchers may want to present for a shorter time.
